Printing in Asia (Hong Kong Campus)
Overview
Follow the steps below to connect to printers at the Hong Kong campus.
Before starting, make sure you are connected to the uchicago-secure Wi-Fi network.
Available Printers
- HK_RESOURCE_CENTER →
10.190.73.15
- HK_RESOURCE_CENTER2 →
10.190.73.14
Windows Setup
- Connect to the uchicago-secure Wi-Fi network.
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.

Enter the following and click OK:
\\busckprt01.ad.uchicago.edu
- When prompted, enter your credentials:
- Username:
adlocal\CNetID
- Password: your CNet password
- Double-click one of the following printers:
- HK_RESOURCE_CENTER
- HK_RESOURCE_CENTER2
- The printer will install automatically and be available in your applications.
Mac Setup (Manual Configuration)
Method A – Using IP (LPD)
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences).
- Go to Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + (Add Printer) button.
- Select the IP tab.
- Configure the following:
- Protocol: Line Printer Daemon – LPD
- Address:
10.190.73.15 → HK_RESOURCE_CENTER
10.190.73.14 → HK_RESOURCE_CENTER2
- Queue: (leave blank)
- Set the Name:
HK_RESOURCE_CENTER (for Printer 1)
HK_RESOURCE_CENTER2 (for Printer 2)
- Leave Location blank.
- Under Use, select Choose Software and pick a generic PostScript printer driver.
- Click Add, then click OK to complete setup.

Troubleshooting
- Make sure you are connected to uchicago-secure (not guest Wi-Fi)
- Double-check your credentials include
adlocal\ if prompted
- If the printer does not appear, try re-adding it or restarting your computer
