Body

Box Shield

This service scans uploads for viruses and other malware to protect users.

Automatically classify sensitive data

Classify new and historical content your way, both manually and automatically. Box Shield's native capability helps identify regulated data and proprietary information when content is considered "active" — when it's uploaded, shared, previewed, edited, downloaded, and more.

Box Shield's native multi-layered threat-detection capabilities help reduce content-centric risks. With deep learning-based malware detection, it can discover and contain malware spread before it becomes a data breach. Box Shield scans content as it's uploaded, shared, previewed, edited, and downloaded (and more) and provides broader coverage for sophisticated malware, including ransomware.

More information on Box Shield can be found here.

Files that are determined to be malware will issue an alert in UChicago Box and a ticket to IT Services will be generated.
