Matlab Information
If you are getting a message that your license is expiring, please try deactivating and reactivating Matlab. Otherwise, if you are looking to download/install Matlab, click here to jump to those instructions.
- Deactivate your Matlab license
- Click Yes if prompted to allow the app to make changes to your device
- Select Deactivate
- Click Yes when prompted to confirm:
- Click OK
- Close Matlab, go to your Start menu, and click Activate Matlab...
- Click Yes if prompted to allow the app to make changes to your device
- Enter your Booth email address (staff/faculty use firstname.lastname@chicagobooth.edu)
- Login with your CNetID and Password as prompted
- Select the license and click Next
- Click Next
- Click Activate
- Click Close
- Open Matlab
If you are running Matlab on a Mac, follow these instructions
- Quit Matlab
- Go to the Applications folder. Right- or control click on the Matlab application, and click Show Package Contents.
- Double click the Deactivate application. There’s only one license to deactivate, and it says “Academic Headcount” or something similar. Click that, and deauthorize. After it’s done, you should have the option to quit
- In that same folder, there’s an Activate application. Put in your CNet@uchicago.edu email address, and go through the SSO process. It’ll ask you what license to activate
- Click Next
- Click Activate
- Click Close
Start Matlab again. You may be prompted to login again, but once you've done so, you will be correctly licensed.
- Go to this site
- Click Sign in to get started
- Enter either your Booth email address (staff/faculty, use firstname.lastname@chicagobooth.edu)
- Login with your CNetID and Password
- Click Get Started
- In the upper-right, click Install MATLAB
- Click Download for Windows to download Matlab
