Restoring inadvertently deleted or missing files/folders
Files and folders stored on department shares (for example \\department\alumni) can be restored by users that have access to those shares.
- Open the department share that contains the missing file/folder
- Go up one level (using the example above, if you are missing a folder/file under \\department\alumni\example\examplefile, you would go to just \\department\alumni so you can see the folder named example)
- Right-click on the folder and select Properties

- Go to the Previous Versions tab

- Locate the date and folder name you wish to restore and select it
- You can click Open to view the contents of the folder before restoring it or if you want to just *restore a folder/file inside the folder, or just Restore to restore the folder to its original location.
*If you are looking to restore an individual file/folder within the share, you can copy the file(s) and/or folder(s) from the backup into the location of your choosing through using the Open function mentioned in step 6 above.
