What Is Claude?
Claude is an AI platform, developed by Anthropic, that offers a chat tool that can summarize information, assist with writing, and answer questions; an agent tool that can automate routine tasks and support collaborative work environments; and a coding tool that can build applications and sophisticated workflows:
- Claude Chat: This core AI functionality enables interactive, natural language conversations via a chat interface. Users can ask questions, request that information be summarized, generate creative content, and query information, making it a helpful tool for everyday tasks.
- Claude Cowork: Designed for collaborative environments, Cowork integrates Claude into platforms like Teams and Google Drive, helping enable groups to brainstorm ideas, organize projects, automate routine tasks, and manage workflows more efficiently.
- Claude Code: Tailored for technical users and developers, Claude Code provides advanced support for programming. It assists with code generation, data analysis, bug fixing, documentation, and learning new coding concepts, streamlining software development with AI capabilities.
How to Fetch Web Pages Directly
Currently, Claude Chat cannot fetch web pages directly. Instead, Claude will base its answers on search results which, while accurate, do not always reflect the exact content on a website. We recommend using Claude Code if you would like to pull information directly from a web page. To use Claude Code to accomplish this, please follow these instructions:

Select Claude Code.

If you are on Windows, you may be prompted to download Git for Windows. If so, follow the instructions and relaunch Claude. This does not apply to Mac users.

Ask Claude Code your question. It may request permission to access the page. Select Always Allow if you plan to ask Claude about multiple pages.
